Ten Up, Ten Down — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 31 October 2026
Ten Up, Ten Down is a scorekeeping app for the card game of the same name, developed by Andrew McCluskey (“I”, “me”). This policy explains what information the app handles and what happens to it.
In short: the app doesn’t collect, share or sell any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device.
What the app stores on your device
To work, the app saves the following on your iPhone or iPad:
- Player names you type in, so they’re filled in for your next game.
- The game in progress: bids, tricks taken, trump suits and scores, so you can close the app and carry on later.
This information is stored only on your device. It is never sent to me or to anyone else, and I have no way of seeing it.
What the app doesn’t do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising.
- No analytics, tracking or third-party software development kits.
- No access to your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- No internet connection is used by the app.
Device backups
If you back up your device with iCloud or to a computer, Apple may include the app’s saved names and scores in that backup, as it does for most apps. Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy, not by me.
Information Apple may share with me
Apple provides developers with limited, aggregated information about their apps, such as download numbers. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple may also send me anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. This information does not identify you, and I use it only to fix problems and improve the app. You can turn this off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Links
The app’s About page includes links to my email address and website. Tapping them opens your Mail app or web browser. Anything you send by email is used only to reply to you.
Deleting your information
You’re in control of everything the app stores:
- To clear the current game, tap New Game and then End Game.
- To remove all of the app’s data, including saved player names, delete the app from your device.
Children
The app doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, for example because a new feature handles information differently, I’ll update this page and the effective date above.
